Dry Bones
Dry Bones

Ezekiel: 37
The Valley of Dry Bones

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley. It was full of bones.
He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley bones that were, very dry
He asked me, Son of man can these bones live? I said O Sovereign LORD, you alone know. Then he said to me, Prophecy to these bones and say to them, Dry bones, hear the word, of the LORD!
This is what, the Sovereign LORD says to these bones I will make breath, enter you and you will, come to life I will attach
tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin I will put breath, in you and you will come to life. Then, you will know that I am, the LORD.
If God asked you to, would you really speak to lots of very dry, dead, bones, in the desert? You might think, what if someone saw me they would think I was mad.
The truth is as long as you do, what God, want you to do it does not matter what anybody else, might think about it.
In our Bible reading that we read together because, God asked Ezekiel and Ezekiel did what God, had asked God was able, to speak life to those, old, dry, dead, bones. Ezekiel, thought to himself I wonder, where those old bones, came from,
I hope, they had a good life?
A small voice came, into Ezekiel’s head asking Ezekiel, to prophesy to the bones because Ezekiel, knew his God Ezekiel didn’t care, what he must, have looked like, to other people.
I knew a man, like that once, he was my old head master he was a mighty man of God. He used to ask a student into his office, at playtime, not to tell them off but to have a friendly chat with them. A bit like, God wants to have a friendly chat with you.
Anyway, when I first went to Victoria school I could not do anything for myself so I spent a lot of time, just staring at the wall of the classroom, feeling cheesed off, that I could not join in with the rest of the class.
One day our headmaster came to teach my class. He must have heard that still, small voice, saying, prophesy life to those bones in that wheelchair, because when he had set something up for the rest of the class, he walked over to me with a Peter and Jane reading book. He was not very good at reading, so it was a good job I was there to correct him.
From that day it was like someone had said “Now!” because everything was tried and tested for me. You see my headmaster, was like Ezekiel, they both listen to God and did what God wanted them to do.
Just look at the results.
sorry I can’t tell you about Mr Dry bones man, but I can tell you about Mr Dykes. I stayed on at school for an extra year, to do my English and Maths exams. Please stop for a minute. I can’t talk, and yet I passed my English exam. Now there is a thought.
You see, God has planned our life for us. Do you know what I am doing now? Well, I write about Bournemouth home football matches for the Hope FM Radio Website, and I am doing the most important job, I am telling you about my best friend Jesus.
I hope you make Jesus Christ your best friend today.
